I feel like a minority mind here, but I have loved everything about Concrete and Gold, other than the title track, from day 1. I think it sounds great, is mixed great, performed great....There are some excellent songs. I love the layers, musicality and adventures they took on that record while still sounding like Foo Fighters. I expect and look forward to even more of that with LP #10.
Butch Vig for me is the best. I feel like they tried too hard to do something on Concrete & Gold, same for Sonic Highways. But, with Saint Cecilia, they crushed it by hanging out making music.
(Paraphrasing here) But on the topic of the haunted house Dave tells Q magazine their experiences there were “One of the reasons the album is so short”
In this recent interview with Nate, he said (let slip?) that the album is scheduled to come out in the summer, wonder in that was the original date or if it was pushed back? Take with a grain of salt since we don’t know if that’s still the plan.

Ok I’m in! Turn up the disco lights lads!
Maybe The Struts rubbed off on them in the best way possible.
Also, I just learned that the board was "saved". Thanks everyone for doing this. From a long time BBS friend.
Yeah it's Greg Kurstin, Timothy let slip on twitter a while back.
He also did Niall Horan’s latest album so let’s hope it’s not tooo poppy.
Whats wrong with being Poppy 🙃
I mean if you’re featured obv i’m sold. Obviously I’d rather they didn’t sound like one direction tho
He did Concrete & Gold too so that’s an indicator of what he can do with the Foos
Hmmm, yeah, about that....
I mean... C&G was alright yeah but not their best
Agreed.
Gil Norton - Produced 'The Colour and The Shape' and 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace'
Nick Raskulinecz - Produced 'One by One' then 'In Your Honor'
Butch Vig - Produced 'Wasting Light' then 'Sonic Highways'.
...each producer's respective album sounds different to each other, in my opinion.
I hope the new album has a different sound to 'Concrete and Gold'
True that.

No I agree. I love it too

This album seems have the same laid back feel of TINLTL.
A little bit more about what happened during recording. Will be pretty cool to hear what they recorded in a legit haunted house. https://kroq.radio.com/articles/radiocom/dave-grohl-says-foo-fighters-album-recorded-in-haunted-house
I mean whatever they do it’ll be great!

Short.
oo.
Those legit song titles too?
Hisssss

Waiting On A War.
Shame Shame.
Love Dies Young.

Oooh!! cannot wait!

I'd suspect that was the original plan, but it may be early autumn (fall) depending on how the next few months go.
So, are those all the songs, or just some of them?
one would hope it's just a selection of the songs. imagine having a 5 track album 😔
I nope. But that "reason why the album is so short" thing is throwing me off.
yes indeed. i think we'd be getting 8 tracks (Sonic Highways style) by the looks of it
I get the feeling none of the songs outstay their welcome.
“The last thing you want to do when you’ve been a band 25 years is a brooding, sleepy acoustic record.”
