The first time they played there my friends and I drove through the night from Liverpool and basically sat outside. I was much younger then though and didn’t rely on a good nights sleep so much…
The fact it was billed as UK dates & only took in English cities was very much discussed at the time. Although, at the time someone at the label told me it wouldn’t just be England but promotion wise it was to be a case of them being announced rather than announcing it themselves… obviously that announcement never came.
Cant see them playing Wrexham - the capacity is less than a third of the other football grounds they had booked. Plus, the Kings of Leon gigs were part of the Ryan Reynolds charm effensive.
In early 2020 I was told for their 25th celebrations they were going to do a secret slot at Glastonbury. COVID came along.
Obviously, it didn’t happen.
In 2021 I was told Glastonbury were getting a one-day license for a festival called Equinox and Foo Fighters were going to headline. (I tried to tease it as an a acrostic on here: https://foofightersforum.com/discussion/1798/foo-fighters-tour-cancelled/p3) The ever changing COVID guidance meant Glastonbury got cold feet.
I do think its more likely to be Pulp but that's just my opinion. When something is churned it turns to Pulp.....cheese is churned and one of the Blur members makes his own cheese. these are big clues for those bands 🤣
RE the 2024 UK shows I see the logic in them redoing the previous dates.. but it also seems like a long time in advance to book shows. Maybe there's a chance it's Jan / Feb 2024 and arena shows instead? Either way I'll be delighted to see them again :)
I do now wonder if the 2024 UK tour dates could perhaps be arena shows for early in the year and then maybe do summer festival shows around Europe for which announcements would follow next year. I've heard rumours of Download all year but news on something like that would not come until 2024.....just a thought :)
I know. I love having the excitement of new dates and making plans etc but at the same time the dread of not getting a ticket is awful.
The lack of any wording on European Dates is strange which gave me the thought of festival dates in summer 2024 in Europe hence the 'UK Tour' wording instead of European Tour. Although they do usually keep them seperate.

Correct, plus for me it’s the, will it or won’t it be when I’m in the country???!
Seeing a variation of this article a lot past few days. If true this could be followed up with some small club shows or something
Concorde in Brighton 🙏🏻 even if I didn’t get tickets I’d go and stand outside!

We were in the paper 😂😂😂
I probably walked past there that first time and wondered what was going on, if only I had known what I know now!
hope we get this today or tomorrow :)
The 8 new Aus/NZ shows for Dec/Jan pretty much replicated their 6 cancelled Nov/Dec 2022 gigs.
Do you expect similar for the June/July 2022 UK dates? So they'll announce football stadiums next Summer?
Manchester Birmingham and London x2 was planned last time so wasn't much of "uk" tour
Wouldn't surprise me if they did football stadium gigs a trip to Wales and wrexhams Racecourse ground could be a venue , KOL recently played there

2024 😫
hope its summer 2024 and some good stadiums. would not be surprised to see special appearance at Glastonbury or download still
Wahhh! But they ARE coming! ❤️
Is that confirmed?
It's truly not that far away!
Fair enough
Stadia it is then
That's ok, it gives me time to save for hotels and travel!
That note... also wording.. Churning up 👀
I did catch that fuel for the rumour mill. They do like to tease, but Glasto is looking increasingly plausible
I cannot cope with the teasing 😂

I’ve been told nothing about The Churnups.
Obviously, that means it will happen.
😁

It will be here before we know it, time goes by wayyyy too quickly.
First thing I spotted with Dave's letter was the churning, could be something, could be nothing at all, emotions churn....
LMAO off they have literally confirmed they are playing Glastonbury, it’s a done deal.

Love an arena tour but the ticket anxiety is bad enough with stadium gigs
