They started playing to a different kind of audience, in my opinion. The people were so different, in the crowds, after that album came out.
Looking back, I feel the band got more well known by people who didn't care for or didn't know rock music/rock bands in general...ie That Greatest Hits vinyl is all I see every time I go in Tesco, still. It is weird, I know they started getting mainstream since 'Learn to Fly' but that album in 2009 changed things even more so. In my opinion, of course.
Yeah I know what you mean. ESPG arena tour is when I think was the last time you couldn't predict the set in full ahead of time. Wembley was the start of shows for the radio listening audience.
She asked to have the clip removed but she let it slip in one of her podcasts when she was talking about DG to Melissa Villaseñor: "I just did a movie with him, he's the best person. They don't make 'em like that. Foo Fighters are doing a horror movie, and i'm in it, and he's a great actor. He's hilarious."
I think it hit just at the right time and reached the new generation of fans that now fill the stadiums. It’s still the song (with AML) that gets the crowd going, at least at the shows I’ve been to since the release - that and AML are probably the most important songs of their post 2000 career.
There’s shows on tv where people sing songs - the Pretender is just about the only song from the 2000s whenever there’s a ‘rock theme’ of sorts..
I won a round in a weekly playlist competition by submitting the pretender for rock week 😂 everyone knows that song.
I'm currently getting minus points on 70's week because folks aren't believing that Aerosmith released songs in the 70's. So that's annoying. They've been around longer than I have!
World is probably one of the best tracks they recorded during IYH sessions that was just resigned to obscurity on a hard to find EP. Also Spill should been on the album they played it live before IYH was released so at some stage it must have been on the album.
Yes, absolutely. It's madness that 'Normal' and 'The Sign' aren't seen as huge/well known/popular Foo Fighters songs like 'My Hero', 'Times Likes These' etc. Amazing songs.

like it or not, it was a huge turning point for the band, in my opinion
What the greatest hits?
yea
How so?

Can someone fill me in on the Whitney Cummings filming? She is awesome and this makes me so happy, but I cannot find any info online.

Oh, wow! Awesome! I wonder if the recent studio is involved.
Friday 13th.. 🧐 don't forget the album was recorded in a haunted house, seems fitting!
Don't forget Tom Petty Birthday Bash! 😊👍
Foo Fighters will perform for Joe Biden event hope someone will record it
Tenacious D will drop a brand new single october 27th, maybe FF have something booked here too..
Totally agree with this.
Archived footage - 'Honey Bee', from the Musicares concert honoring TP in 2017. No fresh performance. Still a good one!
I would've expected they'd choose 'Breakdown' but Spoon did that instead.
In Your Honor email....as predicted above 👍🏼
What was the bold all about?
Mysterious.
IMO The Pretender was the turning point.

Lol that’s so dumb! Aerosmith were huge in the 70s - probably 6 or 7 albums in already? 😂 argue for the points back immediately
Great performance. Shiflett sure is good.
How about Grohl playing drums with the Heartbreakers and guitar with Foos for this! Very Grohl! :)
I wonder what songs they'll play at Joe Biden event
I'm a bit bitter tbh 🤣 once points are submitted they can't be changed. I'm sulking 😂
I’d be livid!!! 😂
Times Like These and Walk? 🤷🏽♂️
Times Like These and My Hero (for being willing to run for that job and against that "popular" bully).
'Podunk' and 'World', hopefully

To me, the biggest FF omitted-from-album mysteries are
Walkin a Line
Normal
The Sign (technically on IYH but still)
Spill
Just cannot understand them being left off.
