So, if anyone would be willing to pre-order and ship the blue vinyl from Seasick to Australia for me and I PayPal them the $$, I could give them my eternal gratitude or maybe just a BJ
So does this mean we could get a sound pack of Taylor's Drumming at some point that people could buy and make music with? Two of my 3 favorite drummers doing that would be cool as heck!
Confirmed as this week's Radio X record of the week.... Chris Moyles playing it right now. Dave is being interviewed on George Godfrey's show on Radio X on Tuesday
This is why I'm really waiting to see what the tracks either side of it are like - it almost feels like it should be a calm between two storms (or as stormy as they get these days) which hopefully makes them good guitar tracks.
I actually really do like the song, and after several listens it is definitely a grower, I really like the vocal melody and keys/bass riff that goes on through it. The chorus (or whatever the actual "shame shame" part is) is the least interesting part.
I am starting to think it was a poor choice for a first single, though. The last few first singles (Rope, Run, Something from Nothing) all kind of struck me as a bit different for them at first, but they weren't that far off. I get Dave's logic for releasing this song first, since it sets expectations that the album will be a bit of a departure. However, the combo of it being really different and also kind of, to use a term I hate, low energy. I think is being more off-putting than he thought it would be. They just did a listeners' poll on the radio station I'm listening to and "not a fan" seems to be the consensus (though people who respond to radio polls do tend to err on the side of negative, in my experience).
Having listened to the clips floating around, there seem to be a bunch of better candidates on the record and maybe this song would have been better as a second single. I can't see this one sticking in the live show, though, I guess, since there won't be live shows anytime soon anyway, maybe they just took advantage of the opportunity.
On another note, I absolutely cannot wait to hear this whole album!!

So the video is something Dave dreamt about when he was 14
it features Sofia Boutella who was in the fantastic film 'Climax'
Young Blood? π

Does anyone else think the vocal mix is a little too low, especially during the verses? It's nitpicky but I wish it would be a touch higher.
Yes, that is my only criticism, vocals are drowned out, I can't hear what he's saying very well!
thats probably not something i picked up on really (i don't pay attention to lyrics anyway) π
Drummer Taylor Hawkins talks about using drum loops on 'Shame Shame' (41.25) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000p6cb

I love it already π
π Of course it is.
I actually heard it being announced then switched the radio off as my first listen has to be perfect.
It’s a special moment in any Foo fan’s life. βΊοΈ Good luck
Enjoy π
Have to say its really grown on me in the last 24 hours.
Yessss April π
Many people say it's a grower! I just happened to do all the growing in one go
its a grower not a show-er
It's definitely a grower. The tune is in my head now.
Well I love it so π
OF COURSE YOU DO πππ
I know right π I was like no, be objective.
Ok, yeah, no that's good, oh I like that. Mmm chills. OK listen again....
I WANT some slap bass Foo now π
Im totally with you on this one.
Im not sold on this track. I like lots of guitars which is pretty much lacking.
Agreed about the vocals.
It's a grower. It still sounds like them and I'm catching myself singing the chorus.
Would have liked a little more build with some variety in the repetition of the lyrics/phrasing.
But hey, it's new music, and I'll take new FF right now!
