‘Times Like These’ to get an all-star cover version for charity.
Comments
Very cool that they're using a Foot song, can't help but wonder if it'll go the same was as the celebrity Imagine cover tho...
This is actual singers and musicians doing something that will benefit charity with the backing of a major broadcaster.
Imagine (although well meaning) was just a bunch of actors attempting to raise spirits.
I’m not a fan of most of the artists taking part so far - but anything for charity is brilliant!
Happy to see Sam Fender is part of the lineup. Will definitely give it a listen. Good song choice also
YUNGBLUD and Chris Martin are obvious choices and i'm keen to hear Rag N Bone Man's take on them. The others are pretty out of left field so the overall effect is probably going to be very clean and pretty, which...isn't FF.
You're probably right and it wasn't a criticism, very cool a Foo's song is being used.
Royal Blood and Biffy should be great, 5 Seconds of Summer is a shame
Musically, it’ll probably suck big time but still, it’s a really cool song to be used in these times, has the right message and this kindof charity / solidarity action is really needed right now.
I enjoyed that cover, was good to listen to.
sounded great to me!
No complaints here!
I don't really remember the rap about pasta bakes in the original...
A decent cover. So much better than my (very low) expectations. Would prefer without the rap though.
But as others have said, it's the message and the fundraising that's the important bit.
I was also not expecting the rap verse in the middle. But I didn't hate it.
I don't love it, just think it isn't for me.
If it was on in the background then I wouldn't stop what i'm doing to listen to it properly, but also wouldn't switch it off.
Same here. I was never a huge fan of the original version either.
As I said up there - anything for charity is brilliant. And I agree great song choice! I think parts of it worked better than others, but overall didn’t hate it, but maybe not for me.
Best allstar charity song? For me its"perfect day", not really any others i can think of that i like.
i think it's quite an honour for the band to have it's music used, and in particular an American band to be part of a huge British charity project.
'Times Like These', it's now part of UK's music history.
Incredible.
Yeah that part’s pretty great
The arrangement is lovely, it’ll give the song a 2nd life & it’s for charity. Overall the good far outweighs the bad.
100% 👍️
could this be Foo Fighters first UK #1 song?! ...number 2 in the charts already apparently
Wonderful! I hope so! 🤞🏼
The chart ends tonight for the week, so I reckon its jumped to number two in popularity at the moment on the itunes chart etc. if it actually charts at #1 tomorrow I will be surprised as the cut off is midnight.
Video was nice, and good little chat with DG too.
I don't mind the song, just know down the line it won't get too many listens.
I don't know like 90% of those peeps.
Only Royal Blood (great/best vocal?, and Dua Lipa)
Definitely!
I really liked the video! 🙂
didn't realise Hailee Steinfeld is on it. she's an amazing actress 😊
This! Felt very special listening to it. And as you say it's for a fab cause.
I imagine Captain Tom will be number 1, no? The weekend has pushed for him as well.
I only know Hailee from pitch perfect 😂
I enjoyed it more than expected. I really want a whole cover of just Rag'n'Bone Man with a little Dave Grohl reacts along with it 😄.
I listened to it without video first and really though one of them towards the end sounded like he recorded his part in a bathroom. Low and behold he's sitting on a toilet in the video🤣
