Yeah exactly my thought, shows are likely already booked through to early next year, so slotting replacements in may be tough. Plus of course we don't even know how this will be come the summer and onwards, they might still not even be able to play then.
The whole thing may have to be put on ice until next year in the worst case scenario, and we'll just end up with a few live shows from 606 and stuff like that.
There goes my weekend in San Francisco for the PJ Oakland shows. It’s a relief the decision was made for me. I’m in the CDC categories that shouldn’t travel and was struggling to decide.
I booked my flight before all this started so I’ll have a cancellation charge.
I was afraid there would be postponements and cancellations but didn’t want to say it out loud for fear it would come true. Crap. I had two dates for Pearl Jam, one of which was 4/11 in Phoenix and then FF on 4/12 there. I hadn’t yet bought tickets or travel for DC. Right when everyone is touring this thing had to start up - boo.
It's not looking good, they are talking about big gatherings being cancelled in Vic (Au) if it escalates, we have very few cases here and I don't think any person to person, it's all travellers come back although heaps of people are getting tested. It will be a sea of tears if the footy gets canned for sure....
Festivals like Glasto I'm sure will be affected because of the camping, cleaning etc. At least with a gig you can clean the arena, take temps, offer wipes etc. Apparently in Singapore anyone going into a large gathering is having their temps taken.
At the moment the airlines are being pretty good at credits and cancellations but maybe if it gets worse they won't be quite so generous....
Are you near there? Can get pretty noisy plus such a pain with all the road closures!
now they’re talking about playing matches with no spectators, at least that’ll keep the punters half happy.
I see Miley’s pulled out of that gig so now it’s cancelled , doesn’t want to risk coming to Oz..maybe the Hemsworth clan might want words with her ha ha. Katy Perry came and she’s preggers. Thought they could have got someone else to do the Bushfire appeal, Robbie’s in town this week or one of the locals.
the early leg of the tour definitely will be affected in some way... the european leg in June will all be dependent on how countries manage to contain it in the next month or so..
Absolutely, here in Ireland today the government has ordered the closure of all schools and colleges for the next two weeks and also the banning of public indoor gatherings of over 100 people.
This thing is serious. We must think of the vulnerable.
Yeah, no indication if the same acts will perform but you'd have to imagine not. I think in general though re-scheduling is going to be a nightmare. So many acts originally playing between now and June are going to be looking to re-schedule August onwards, there are only so many venues, plus all the other logistics. To say 2020 is going to be a shitshow for live touring, as well as so many other things, is an understatement.
Yeah It makes sense not to jump the gun and re-evaluate in a few weeks but It just seems impossible things will be massively better by then. With that festival going, it all but guarantees the five Van Tour dates scheduled before that will go as well, at a minimum.
Beachlife is postponed too and working on rescheduling. I doubt that Chevy and Shifty will be able to play the rescheduled show with all the foo stuff they will be trying to catch up on.
seems like Covid-19 started to spread in China in mid november.
It’s been four months now, with China’s massive efforts to contain and slow down the spread.
With these quarantines and other efforts of unbelieveable magnitude it took months to slow the spread down, still there’s a lot of sick individuals, the epidemic being far from over.
As similar measures just are not possible in Europe and very doubtful if possible anywhere else in the world for that matter I’m thinking slowing this down will take a much longer time over here than it did in China.
I think it takes a miracle for summer festivals to be able to go on as planned.

A live feed from 606 would be great - obviously not the same as a real show but would be great to see them do that.
Festivals will be trickier.
They need the festival to cancel otherwise if foo cancel they will be hit with a huge penalty payment.

airlines might still waive cancellation fees - or give you airline credit.
These are extremely difficult times and hopefully businesses recognize and sympathize with that.
Coachella now postponed too.
And so it begins.
The Van Tour cannot go on, I’m sure it will be cancelled.
Really bummed about this messing with the 25th anniversary but then again it’s a small concern regarding how bad the overall situation can get.

wouldn't mine if they cancelled the Grand Prix at Albert Park...😏

I used to work in Albert Part and I used to live in Southbank, the constant drone of it was maddening.
The only good thing is that they allow skaters and cyclists free reign after they set it up and before they tear it down!😄
I love Dr. Drew...just wish things hadn't come to such a widespread panic.
With constant cancellations/postponements it's surely only a matter of time (of time) before FF do the same.

That’s it then 😢
All LN tours cancelled with the hope to resume in May or June.
That means at least the first part of the van tour is off.
Yup. Unfortunate but inevitable and surely the correct choice. We have to do whatever possible to reduce the spread of this thing.

Oh absolutely the right decision.
Just sad that we are in this position and that its happened during their 25 year celebrations.
Strangely the RS article suggests touring might resume in April, but that does seem unlikely, this thing isn't going to be gone by then.
Yes, this.
Like I've said before it is very unfortunate but as long as they are safe and healthy that's all that matters. They have my full support.
Something In The Water has gone.
They’ve not even tried to reschedule just skipping this year and honouring all tickets for the festival next April
We were told this at work too. But everything moves so quickly, things are changing all the time
Uh ohhh :(

yeah that’s definitely likely, I agree

I had a dream last night that FF carried on with the tour but did it as a drive in tour.
They played at drive in movie theatres - we all stayed in our cars while the boys played and watched it on the big screen.
Dave jumped on the cars and ran along them during the extended jams.
🤣
