Belinda Carlisle was briefly in the Germs (as Dottie Danger) with Pat so not a complete disconnect...
Yeah, I'm not a fan of seats, but this is a massive football stadium. I'm taking both kiddos
The 20th anniversary show had GA field and open seating in the stands. I think there were 20 of us who met up and sat together. That was a great arrangement, but yes, seats are usually reserved for stadium shows.
Booked! The 20th was a blast and I'm sure this will be too. I hear exiting the parking lot is horrendous, so maybe I'll just Uber it.
Grabbed seats for this one too. Decided I wanted to be able to enjoy the rest of the fest and not sweat it out in the out in the pit all day 😆
Had the craziest work schedule the past couple weeks with little time to come to this safe space...
Echoing what everyone said - holy crap what a confusing and underwhelming lineup.
Is it sad for them that none of their die hard fans are that excited about what’s supposed to be this killer celebration? I bought a ticket, but pretty reluctantly, ha. Mostly for fear of missing them actually playing a few old songs and honoring S/T in some way.
This is exactly my thought too - not excited by the lineup and really was going to skip it but the thought that they might pull out the best setlist ever made me buy a ticket.
it's the hope that keeps us going
classic fomo 😊
Honestly that's 100% it.
Just the fomo on the best setlist ever.
And I'll go and it will be the same festival setlist that they have had for the last 5 years.
I have serious fomo about DC... but my bank account tells me to be patient grasshopper for something way more suitable and affordable! It's the extra airfare once we get to LA plus the hotels aren't cheap and the Aussie $ is pants right now 🙁
Basically to make DC worthwhile we need another US gig within 2-3 weeks, likely? Who knows with them ha ha...
What if...just to throw out a pretty wild and unlikely idea...the "special guests" are Franz and William?
"And I'll go and it will be the same festival setlist that they have had for the last 5 years."
No, it wont be - I'm totally sure of that.
I'd go if they said it was... but what do you do with those guys? Play the first and 2nd albums with them and bench current members?
Or do two drummer rigs throughout?
OR... (the masterpiece)...
End with the first and second albums...
And finally reveal the huge covered riser in the middle...
to be a drum/synth platform, where Dave, Taylor AND Will all play on three sets together with Rami (behind) , while Franz, Pat and Chris all swap rhythm and lead roles in a crazy dance led by Nate, as all four walk on stage and then down to the "round" to meet the other three...
Indeed, I did speculate that Franz might be a guest. I think William is about a 2% chance of happening though.
Unless you have genuine insider information, you've no actual way of KNOWING that though.
That's what came to my mind too when i saw the poster, even if it seems unlikely. It would be special
Heh, yeah I guess there is always a chance, stranger things have happened. Like nobody saw Dave and Courtney making up or GNR original lineup reuniting, but William just seems so unlikely to me to put it all behind him enough to get back on stage with Dave. Let's see, it'd certainly be very nice to see every Foo Fighter on stage together at least once.
cancelled
kinda expected, it sucks but had to be done.
For the first time in forever my concert travel calendar is now empty 😥
same. although a couple still haven't been postponed/cancelled as they are waiting on official word to announce it I guess.
Depending on the situation I might have stuff in October but that will probably be up in the air too.
Edit: And saying that two minutes later I got an email from gigs and tours regarding one postponing for a year... now just waiting on what Green Day/Hella Mega tour is going to say.
