It's not me shitting on it though. It has an audience - Foo Fighter fans, horror aficionados, pop culture nerds ... just beyond that it, it will at best register a shrug, and at worst get people apoplectic with rage that it even exists.
Speech Development Records have the slogan: "We May Not Be For You, ... And That's Fine". But of course that makes for dry articles when you're a movie critic.
Oh for sure, I definitely didn’t take it as you shitting on it, I was just expecting pans (since it is such a niche idea) and got a whiff that some of the reviews might be good. Which I just think would be hilarious 😄
74% now, though one of the rotten reviews from a dude named Roger Moore who stands out to me (as a frequent rotten tomatoes checker) as a notorious fun-hater gave it a 2/4 which, frankly, combined with his not-scathing summary, seems like high praise lol
It's hilarious the Catholic New Service feels the need to watch such a movie . That there must be so much fear their congregation will just accidentally happen upon a movie so clear about what it is about from a band so obviously raging constantly at the top of the christian charts week after week.
In other news here, here and here... we warn against all 147 strains of weed we tested , rate 1493 alcoholic spirits in descending order of unholiness least you confuse them with any perceived holy spirit, and review 83 porn films released this month to list an advise on the current state of woeful decadence and rate how absurdly tame each is compared to historical best in class law suits against our church.
I really did not enjoy this film at all. Really didn't. The only thing I liked about it was John Carpenter's opening theme. I was getting so pumped then the film? Meh
Got my tickets for the Mexican premiere next thursday. Found out the movie made its way to the internets during the weekend. I'd return my tickets but I can't. Oh well, I'll enjoy the popcorn.
1080 webrip, so if you're finnicky about quality, it's better to hold out for an official VOD release (plus it supports a self-funded film). But if you just can't wait and need a sticky-beak, it's out there in places.
I don’t know if some guys here lowered my expectations but I had A LOT of fun! I LOL’d a handful of times with the whole cinema (maybe 50 guests only).
The two friends I dragged (dudefriend and his wife) had a fucking blast. I thought they were gonna hate me.
If anything, some scenes felt like they dragged for too long, but overall, two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
It feels like so long ago since I went to see it so I can't fully remember other than it all got a bit loose around that point and a little confusing! I feel ready to watch it again now, so I must buy the DVD!

oh thanks! that was absolutely my expectation lol but some of the early buzz seemed positiveish which surprised me. Not that it matters at all

Currently 83% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes 🍅
Love it
Seems like opinion is mostly rather good - straight to it utterly sucks - with not much in the middle.
4/5 Kerrang
B+ Consequence
B Collider
81% Rotten Tomatoes
7/10 Slashfilm
3/5 Loud&Clear
47/100 Metacritic (Based on 10 critic reviews so far)
1.5/5 Washington Post
List is basically "people who like music" to "people yelling at kids to get off their lawn"

When the Catholic News Service rates it 'O' for "morally offensive" and the Christians are clutching their collective pearls about the band engaging in "spiritual warfare", you know you've got a hit!

So as best as I can tell, the Dream Widow album was NOT released today, correct? ... checked amazon, itunes, official site, so looks like a delay.
Mexico’s biggest cinema complex (Cinepolis) shared the trailer today on their socials with the note “enjoy “Terror at studio 666” soon”
Because we can never the fuck translate simple literal titles.
ANYWAY, we’re getting it soon!!

To be honest, I don't have much interest in the film to begin with. I'm not really sure I will even see it. I just want the album!

They've announced digital on the 10th and physical blu ray on the 24th for the buying options.
I finally watched it the other day. I don't fully understand what happened to Nate in the van.

It hasn't had a physical release this side of the Atlantic. If I knew for sure it was region free I'd order a copy from elsewhere
Many DVD players can read other regions. We have a cheapo player that reads everything!
I just looked at Amazon Au and it doesn't give a region, just country of original as Aus. If I get it then I'll let you know what it says.
Thank you 😁
Been added to Sky Movies
Also out on HBO Max in the US and other regions that carry the service!
It's on Now TV in the UK for anyone wanting to see it. Cool movie which made me feel nostalgic for the band.
