Ok so this was my attempt at a multiple response in one. It failed.
Not a fan of mk. Knebworth would be better
Patience sucks. They know were not patient and we'll sell out every europe venue as they announce it. If they announce everything together, we may be more sensible.
Thing is most shows are gonna sell out anyway, so I don't think they need to go for that angle. But maybe they do, I ain't no concert promoter!
Knebworth is probably out as well, Taylor said they don't want to play there because so many bands did their last show there, felt like it's cursed IIRC.
I was thinking - for a 25th celebration, anything other than (what is effectively) a UK CalJam would be a let-down.
Dave is on record more than once talking about how Foo Fighters were a bigger deal quicker over here compared to the rest of the world.
“Well, this country is the first place that we ever headlined an arena, headlined a festival, and headlined a stadium. This is the place that we really cut our teeth; we learned to do it here, so we owe this place a lot!" - Kerrang! 2018
But then in a business sense, why make extra work? UK shows sell out in minutes so just find an available stadium & take the path of least resistance.
I can't really think of anywhere that would really fit the bill for a UK Caljam type thing, other than places that already host festivals with provision for camping, or have in the past. Knebworth is the only other one I can think of but as I mentioned above, the band don't seem keen to play there. I can't remember where it was said (Maybe @FooArchive remembers?) but it was either Dave or Taylor that said they wouldn't do it because it ended up being the last gig in the UK for several bands, notably Queen and Led Zeppelin.
We don't really do amphitheater type venues because of our shitty weather. So I think if there is anything CalJam like, it probably wouldn't involve the camping part.
Yeah, I can’t find the source but I remember Taylor at one time saying Knebworth felt like a jinx.
It wasn’t so much the camping aspect of CalJam I was thinking of, just a support bill & venue that looked a little more thought out rather than just making do with what’s available.
After Emily Eavis comments about special events to mark Glastonbury’s 50th there’s a section of the eFestivals forum running with the idea that each day will have a former headliner do a surprise set and with FF having no gigs that weekend they’re high on their list of suspects.

That’s the 5 double Gins & a pint of cider.
"Barnsley, do you love rock and roll?"
I could see it.
Alreeeeeeeet !!!!!
😂
Get yourself to Europe (AND the UK) missy...
Nope. No day 1 Nîmes tix left.
My friend who I'm going with has 2 seated for night 1. I ended up with standing so the seated ones are going at face value for anyone who wants them.
Thanks but I’m looking for standing.
Im seriously seriously considering it.
Well I guess we wait until Monday when they might announce another 2 dates.
At this rate of announcing 3 or 4 shows at a time it will be July before they get them all on sale 🙄
😂

Poops. Just book flights.

I guess Hyde Park: Electric Boogaloo is possible but I rather hope not, what with the Royal park noise + time curfews.
One thing I have learnt being on here and FB groups is that last minute tixs do become available! Someone was already offering their Valencia ones!
I must be patient!
And the beer prices. A proper caljam somewhere outside of london were folks could camp would be way cool.
I ain't camping anywhere, just so you know
I’m with you there! My back wouldn’t cope with it!😂
Good! Viva La Resistance!

Might be a very long shot but I had a dream last night that the guys turned up at the Frank Carter gig I’m going to later..
Stranger things have happened.... (🙈🤣😏)
😂
Wouldn’t be surprised if it were football stadiums across the uk again.

That’s why I rented a RV for CalJam - I don’t do camping either.
not read the last few pages.
