i like the song, i don't love it....i've been listening to it on repeat throughout the day. I don't think it's the strongest of singles from Foo Fighters....it feels like it could sit comfortably within the Saint Ceceilia EP.
I'm not sure the songwriting is up to the high standards of past pre-album lead singles/second singles we've had.
I agree that it sounds like the SC EP, which is a great thing. The guitars are outstanding, especially once Shiflett gets to rip. This sounds like it was fun to make and surely will be fun live with the vocal choir and crunchy guitars.
i agree with the SC sound and the 'Savior breath' similarity, which is a song that i like a lot. i was so looking forward to it cause of that riff @2min, but overall i don't love it. With 'Shame Shame' i kept going back to it, i 'll wait for a live performance
If they are traveling with the backup singers anyway, they should let them do more interesting stuff other than the oohs and ahhs. Let them help beef up the chorus to the pretender, or reintroduce songs like bridge burning with the overlapping vocals at the end or something.
They've had a crazy good guitar guy in the studio for over 20 years and we seldom listen to him take over. Don't think backup singers are gonna get their say.
That's the only thing I wish Dave could get past, safety.
Also, this doesn't sound like a "dance record" either.
They're being really cagey about the haunted house details, supposedly because they signed an NDA so the owner could sell it...but I believe it's since sold so would they still be bound by the NDA? Depending on the term, I guess, but I assume they're indefinite. Unless that's just part of the story to build pre-album hype.
Yes the latest press release out today are saying that Dave say's its a dance record which this song certainly is not, but I think it is possible that we might get another single release before the album is out, or maybe in the same week of release as the album.
Whitney Cummins said in May 2020 she’d “just filmed” a horror movie with them. From the 606 Instagram live it would appear the Shame Shame vid was recorded just prior to lockdown.
so everything suggests they are 2 separate entities.

Glad you like it 🤘

I totally got a SAINT CECÍLIA vibe from it
Wow! I was thinking the same thing! I do like the song!
It’s probably because it kinda sounds like Savior Breath
My first thought was it sounds like it should be on the SC EP.
I like this a whole lot more than Shame.

That was my first thought too, it'll definitely make a great live track
I didn't fall madly in love with it as soon as i heard it, like i did with Shame Shame, but maybe it's a grower indeed
I have a theory. The footage from their (probably) shelved horrorfilm will appear in the music video for "no son of mine".
Am I right?
I don't know.
could grow on me...
For some reason the opening riff reminds me of Metallica

I like the track but could do without the backing vocal stuff. It just sounds out of place for Foo Fighters.

I'd like that, but they seem to not be doing that, at least so far for the promotional stuff.
I got Rammstein!
Could be. I know very little of them. It reminded me of someone trying to play seek and destroy but guessing at it
Another great tune. Excited for the new album to come now - god knows we need it! 🥳

I guess I'm one of the few that actually like Shame, Shame. But it was also the video that lured me in on that one.
No Son of Mine def rocks and I def don't hate it.
Looking forward to the whole album. And finding out more about this supposed haunted house that they recorded it in.

Well I love a good ghost story...so I'm hopeful we'll find out more someday.
As if 'Haunted house the Foo Fighters recorded in' isn't a massive selling point!?
Exactly what I was thinking, would probably even offer more 😂
😂 this was my first thought!!

Was the horror movie thing ever confirmed? Surely they were only ever talking about what turned out to be the Shame Shame video

I see. So is that not Whitney Cummins in the Shame video? I think that might be my confusion. Thanks for clearing it up either way
No that's Sofia Boutella
