What I've been cringing at for years is at Dave trying to make "casual" things happen.
The most recent ones was at the Roxy Show, when the choir girls started clapping at "The Sky is a Neighborhood" and Dave caling them out "hey you sing for us and you don't know that the song hasn't ended yet?!" Yeah it was very funny, except, they didn't clap on any other song. Did he scripted that?
Also today, it was nice that he acted a bit surprised at some pictures, until he said he picked them. ππ€·π½βοΈ Someone else should've picked them, or at least have each member pick 3, or something like that.
Shifty is my favourite foo fighter. There’s something about his laid back sarcasm I like. And it annoys me that during band introductions on stage Dave has to find a way to try and take the piss out of him.
Better manners to just not included pictures of ex-band members rather than A) talk about the pic like they weren’t there, or B) speak on behalf of the absent party.
Doesn't surprise me. They're now one of the biggest rock acts in the world..... a good % of the audience watching the video would wonder "who the hell are those people"?
Question though... do those guys come back for the Hall of Fame induction?
Sub question: When do you guess that would happen, realistically?
Foo Fighters should be up for nomination next year. It’s 25 years after the band’s first release that a band is eligible for induction. Usually the nominations would happen around now (maybe between now and January) and then the induction in April. Because of COVID, that schedule has changed.
But I see Foo Fighters being nominated in their first year of eligibility, and they’re likely to be inducted on the first try.
i don’t see Goldsmith of Stahl being inducted with the rest of the band. They’re no longer with them, and they didn’t play on the first release, either. Maybe Goldsmith by virtue of being in the first touring version of the band.
As for who’d induct them.... That’s anyone’s guess at this point.
Thoughts: I hate how Shiflett still seems to be treated like he is inferior/I love that he speaks up more now. He and Nate truly seem to respect one another and be the cerebral part of the band. I love the unit that is FF, but wish Chris and Nate got more love in public from the Dave/Taylor machine.
There is no reason to show WIlliam or Franz. That would be overly awkward. Plus, Jess Greene has contributed way more to the band than those two combined.
Foos HoF in 2022. William and Franz will probably be invited by Dave, but they won't show. They really are not part of the band and hardly offered anything in the grand scheme of things.
I chatted with a friend about this yesterday. We concluded that having Brian May and Roger Taylor induct them, and having them and the band play “Under Pressure” together would be AWESOME!
Seeing as it got to the point where 1/3 of their show consisted of covers recently, I would love for their HOF induction to be centered solely upon their OWN music. They lose focus so easily.
People still have phone books?! Well we'll chuck it out into the universe to begin with.... either that or we'll have to get together and do a Nandi style YT video to get attention!

Sorry for my cynicism. You know I love the band.
π€£π€£π€£ That’s awesome π
This was a nice one
Was expecting something else / more due to all the hype (i mean, there's merch and all for this!) but always nice to see them hang around.
π I think we visibly fell asleep on the rail in Dublin to this!
I know what exactly what you mean!
Shifty is my favourite foo fighter. There’s something about his laid back sarcasm I like. And it annoys me that during band introductions on stage Dave has to find a way to try and take the piss out of him.
Agree on Shifty always being the 'new guy' they always take the piss out of,
Waiting on Shifty's memoirs some day..
Did anyone else take notice in the fact that goldsmith and stahl was not included in any pictures?
If they stated that they did not want to be included i guess it is fair, but if that was daves decision it is a shit move.
even with Rami in the band, Chris Shiflett is still the new guy π
Exactly!
(they're taking the piss out of Rami as well though)
just laddish banter, and each band member literally gets the same shit....apart from Pat, he seems above it all π
Obvs, he's pat smear!

it's like making your wife sit and watch old videos of you and your ex girlfriend π€·ββοΈ
Dave and Taylor cracking each other up whilst the rest of the band sit stone-faced was pretty funny also.

Sub-Sub question: Who gives the induction speech?
I'd say 2025 they'll get the nod. I think that way all of the band can be inducted with maybe the exception of Rami. Not too sure though
I could see Josh Homme inducting them

Yes

Brian May will induct them.
Good call on Brian May to induct them!
Definitely!!! Who do we have to talk to...
I shot a small gig last Sunday, so weird to be doing that again...but good weird!
I say we go straight to the man himself
Got his number?
Tenacious D should induct them!
Brian May, Joshua and The D are good guesses.
I’m gonna say they are inducted by Obama.

No. Maybe we can find it in the phonebook
Love it
