I’m starting to wonder if the US is going to get a fall tour instead of summer 2020. Seems odd with the hints that dropped already, but it’s getting really, really late for any sort of summer tour announcement. Maybe we just get a July 4th festival like in 2015, a new album/retrospective/box set announcement, and a fall tour. Maybe a nice Record Store Day release. I’d be down with that.
I think what is very possible is a promo run in March and April which also doubles as a 1995 first throwback. A lot of the venues from the first 1995 tour are gone now but some are still there, and those that are gone they can just play similar sized venues.
I mean it's what they normally do anyway, play smaller promo shows before the album comes out, so it wouldn't be anything different, just this time they could also throw in more S/T songs in the set as a double header.
My deepest desire is for small venue shows. But my deepest fear is they will possibly do a on the day ticket drop announcements which means I’ll probably not be able to go as I’m fairly sure they won’t come back to Texas this run.
They do tend to be on the day announcements don't they. But if they do a "Watt Tour redux" maybe they will announce them all ahead of time.
They didn't play Texas on the Watt tour but they did come in September '95, so you never know. Two of the three venues seem to be still going, although Deep Ellum Live is now Canton Hall, it looks like?
Zero chance they'll skip over the UK, the only question is what & when. We know they can sell out a stadium in 48 hours max so it's not like they need to announce a long time before from that POV, but they probably do for other logistical reasons. But if they've got other plans, smaller stuff, they can leave it later.
I think tours are often announced well in advanced, because all these big shows are competing for the same audiences a lot of the time. Most people commit to spending only so much on live music that promoters will want to get them booked up earlier than other touring shows. It's all competition. 🤷♂️
Good point, and there have already been a lot of announcements from other bands. Plus you have the other obvious problem that there are only a finite number of venues which in turn can only host finite shows in the summer. Quite a few UK stadium tours for other artists already announced this year.
Mind you I'm sure they know what they're doing, it's not like this 25th anniversary thing sneaked up on them.
Yeah true, with it being the anniversary you sometimes almost forget there is also a normal album cycle coming, so the big stadium shows could indeed be next summer, with just a handful of smaller shows + festivals this year.
yea I'mm not sure a recreation of stuff they did in 1995 is necessarily on the cards...would be nice i guess...but because so much has changed, venues etc then its not worth it. all or nothing, i'm guessing.
i'm usually wrong though on predicting this bloody band 😎
Yeah the only real reason I'm even thinking it's a possibility is because of that article 5 years ago which said Dave was planning to re-create the Watt tour for the 20th anniversary.
Although if you look at it another way that could also be a sign they scrapped it because thought it wasn't a good idea and won't be doing anything similar this year either.

Are you trying time convince me to go to the early 2020 shows?!
my birthday is right around the Virginia show, I’m debating that and the Boston show.
Id said no more festivals but in Lieu off anything else it’s worth considering both Boston and Virginia as ny birthday I’d in between both shows 🤷🏻♀️
FFFF CHALLENGE
Convince me to go to Boston and Virginia feastivals
I’d love if they do a small show in NYC. I’d camp out for that. Missed them at Irving Plaza in 2014. What a clusterf*ck that was with the tickets.
Haha, no. I'm convincing you to go to the small venue shows in March and April......if such a thing gets announced.
They've got to commemorate their very first shows in some way or another, haven't they?

Dallas is possible for me - it’s a 5 hour drive but doable.
The anxiety is the worst, I’m excited and nervous for things that might not even happen. I thought I’d grown out of this.
it'll soon be too late to announce summer shows here in the UK. but....maybe not.
I don't know...they're here in Europe in June so surely they have to play the UK around that time. Surely.

I think if not this month, next at the latest.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the big stuff (stadiums 2021 or whatever) is already booked - probably last year even.
and then the smaller venue stuff even arenas can be relatively last minute in comparison - depending on what is free when.

I’m on edge as to what the other stuff might be. I mean I’d legit want to cancel holidays 😩
Teleport to me and you can be my plus 1.
I can see little tiny shows to promote album & big shows next year . Which is fine by me.
its the little tiny shows that will be really hard to get tickets for.
i've now set alerts for THS/The holy shits etc..
cause you never know!
How?
Yeah and they’re always full of industry folk so there’s less ticks
Brixton Academy on Nov 14 and 15th would be nice. It's open...
Maybe I'm getting too into this whole 1995 reproduction thing though.
yea I'mm not sure a recreation of stuff they did in 1995 is necessarily on the cards...would be nice i guess...but because so much has changed, venues etc then its not worth it. all or nothing, i'm guessing.

google alert... although I'm sure it would be seen before that gave me an alert 🙄
I know. Plus short notice. I know I won’t be able to do any of them.
that's the spirit.
😔
That would be great! But impossible to get tickets to!
