How long did it last? I checked the store after the announcement and didn't see any live stream merch. Either I missed it or they hadn't put it out yet. The foil had sold out and then came back. My experience with most band merch stores is they usually don't know how to handle the posters and they get to you in bad shape unfortunately.
One exception to this was the first GNR reunion at the Troubadour in 2016. I went down and listened out on a sidewalk with about 150 fans. It was such a great vibe.
erm, i checked it as soon as i saw the link here, and then maybe 10-15 mins later for the signed one to sell out.
funnily enough i checked the foil and that went to sold out 1hr ago... but messaging someone it must've come back up (cancelled orders or issues with it i don't know) and they said it sold out 10-15 mins ago.
and from the band store, i've only had one issue with a poster (foil) where it was damaged due to the way it'd been packaged. other than that the rest have been in perfect condition.
edit: so i probably first looked at about 3.15/20ish, then it was sold out by 3.30 (3.27pm) for the signed one.
I checked immediately after they tweeted out the live stream. I must've not seen it. 15 minutes is not long, but $250 isn't bad considering Pearl Jam dropped one a few weeks back at $500 and it sold out in minutes. Poster was ugly as hell so I wouldn't have bought it anyway. This one I liked. Definitely not as cheap as the Wasting Light bundle but that was right before they started playing stadiums.
I got the Super Bowl poster from the store and it was abused. They had no other inventory so I got my money back. I wasn't talking just about the Foo Fighters (Live Nation) store though. I've had problems with other band stores. Most of the people they hire don't know how to roll them or put them in a 2" tube. Needs to be 3" or larger or they gorilla grip it and it causes ripples.
Regular posters usually aren't as bad. You can baby foils and they'll still get damaged. They're just tough to keep mint. Almost every foil at the St. Louis show a couple of years ago were damaged at the merch table. Went through a number of them and they had been abused. Doesn't take much on them though unfortunately.
I'll be honest, if I were in a band doing a livestream in a pandemic and I saw fans gather outside, I would do everything I could to avoid them and, if I were forced to appear at some point, I wouldn't give them the time of day. Not risking my health or that of my family so that a fan feels better about themselves.
It's a pandemic folks. They'll still be around afterwards.
100% - which is why im debating whether to go or not. If I were the band I wouldn't be stopping and talking to anyone.
I know that they have been making the 606 staff and all media and crew who come in contact with the band take a COVID test. They are not taking any chances.

I'd be there. Mask on.
that's fair, i know it can be a common problem as the people packaging them don't think about it and just rush them in.
it wouldn't feel right without a bit of panic

If you missed out on a foil, this person will sell you one for 3 times the amount. π Wasted no time.

Im debating whether to go up but mobs of people scares me - because there are still idiots not wearing masks
would you not miss the show online if you hung outside all night? π€
I can watch it on my phone - and I think The Rainbow has a free wifi.
i guess so π»
The stage entrance to the Roxy is basically right next to the outdoor bar bit of The Rainbow so sitting there you can see the stage door
Considering it’s streaming worldwide it’s a bit of a bummer the T-shirt isn’t available on the UK store.
π€£ the line between fan and semi stalker starts to blur * hugs *
