I went to the Leeds show he did last year and it was a tiny tiny venue. But very special night. met him after the gig and he signed autographs and posed for photos. the shows he is doing in UK next year actually look a little bigger than the 2023 dates.
Band on the wall from last year was bigger than previous shows however academy 2 in Birmingham is possibly smaller. Might be hesitant to go big there as last time be was in Brum from memory was at the former Firefly with Jackson United
I got tickets at Camden this morning. no issue at all. last time it was a little more stressful. should be a good day. Camden is great for a place to quick trip.
Well done! I assume they're bigger venues this time? Although nothing down west country/Wales way for those folks so I know a few friends can't get to the others midweek.
Will be Wembley next! They probably could have got bigger venues for Aus but then it will be nice to see him for the first time with just a couple of hundred folks!
yeah the London one is the Electric Ballroom. I was at the Leeds show this year which was the 400 capacity venue. its was great. not sure what size he played last time in London but noticed his UK dates have not yet sold out for next year whilst this years dates sold out on the day of release. guess its just all about finding the right size.
I'd imagine in a lot of places you'd jump from under 400 to about 1500. The venue for Melbourne is 250 and sold out in seconds but I'm sure he probably have got another couple of hundred easily. Also as a fairly late booking depends on what was available!
UK is still a few months away, some people don't like to book until nearer the time when they know what they are doing.

Im hoping to do Camden...maybe
Yeeeeeeeeeeeehaw!
And now we're getting two Aussie Shifty shows!
Yay!
😁😁😁
Not really a big fan of that venue but might try if the dates line up
Not sure if he's not expecting a big crowd, or venues were hard to come by but the Melbourne venue is... very small and smelly and shit, lol.
Even I've played that venue, and my band wasn't great 😂

Yeah over the years he’s been scaling up the venues… as you’d expect. But he’s always pretty generous with his time before / after shows
I love his solo stuff also. such a talent.

I remember - was that the 2008 run?
Yeah that's the one. We had Chris singing pull my finger because of Stu's son who I'm blanking on name of thinking it was the lyric
I know, my friends played there and I was photographing it for them, so dark as well!
I can think of better places but maybe everywhere is booked out or don't open mid week, we'll use that excuse ha ha.
Yeah! Good times!!!

Yeah venues are mostly about 500 more than last tour

no sure but don't think his UK tour is sold out yet. his last one sold out very quickly. great to see him in venues of this size.
1,500 capacity at the Electric Ballroom. it was 400 at the last venue .
Quite a big jump, that's the London one?
I have several friends who'd like to go but nothing this time covering the SW area and too far to go on a school night for the others.

yeah plus venues that small look full when they are not either. looking forward that one. lots of cool bars and places all within a walking disctance.
