Would you be happy if the The Churnups who are slotted to play the Friday of Glastombury on the Pyramid Stage before Royal Blood & Arctic Monkeys do turn out to be the Foo Fighters?
Personally and for the selfish reason that I'm not going to Glastombury I would prefer for The Churnups to be a Pulp or a Blur but it would however be a perfect slot for the Foos to play a surprise set.
Whats your thoughts?
Comments
But it it categorically IS the Foo Fighters? The band themselves have confirmed it
They didn't "confirm" shit (and putting you on ignore because 7 comments later, you still won't listen).
Also, here's Noel Gallagher dropping a "churn" hint, too
It’s will either be epic or complete fail…
My money is that it’s The Wurzels 😂
At this point, it’ll be an outrage if it’s anyone but Foo Fighters
What the hell is wrong with you Foos Fans 😂
The slot is the same slot they played on their first appearance 25 years ago, same day, same time, same position.
Dave was in a band called Churn
Dave released a statement with the word Churnup in
The slot is 1:15 long and there is an hour between the previous band. Glastonbury TBA slots are NEVER more than an hour, heck all three of the subs on the weekend are only 1 hour themselves, who else in a TBA slot would get 1:15 other than a headliner sized band, if even subs don’t get that?
A very reliable source (in Glasto circles they get a lot of info every year) reported Foos we’re doing a secret set on the pyramid this year, and had booked rooms in Bristol about 6 months ago, this is now being reported in the Sun today, even though it was common knowledge amongst Glasto diehards 6 months ago:
Pulp could no longer headline Glastonbury, they’d probably be a sub, so why would they get a secret set with a longer set and a mysterious name to be placed one slot lower than where they'd play if announced normally? The whole point of Glasto secret sets is that they are acts placed in much smaller slots, like the Killers being mode afternoon in a tent (and they only got an hour)
Why are some of you sooo stubborn? It’s the Foo Fighters, it’s always been the Foo Fighters!
It's frickin on!!!!!!!!
😝😝😝
I’m going to Glasto and to be honest I’d rather it was pulp and or blur. It’ll be Daves third appearance in 4 years if that’s the case and I don’t want him to just be turning up there every bloody year going forward 😂
Third appearance in 6 years.
2017; FF headline.
2022; two songs with McCartney.
2023; Churnups.
i thought there had only been 4 festivals in this time due to covid and the fallow year. I may be wrong though
Ah, you using "third appearance in 4 years" made it look like you were talking calendar years, not festivals.
Dave was never in a band called Churn. Not sure where that comes from but it was a Barrett Jones band that Dave had nothing to do with.
It’s been pointed out to him a few times. Doesn’t seem to care.
Glastonbury takes place on a dairy farm, you can bet the name came from a pun based on that rather than a connection to a band that doesn’t even merit a Wikipedia mention.
yeah, like there're more than enough smoke here to draw a conclusion. i'm just confused who started the telephone game with it.
Nobody’s bothering to check that minor detail and that seems to be the one everyone’s convinced themselves is true.
I would love it to be Blur or Pulp. Either of those would make a happy evening in the garden with some beers watching them followed by Royal Blood & AM. If it was the Foo's I think I would just want to be there 🤣 and a little bitter that the one show in the UK this year is for a closed audience.
Glastonbury gets extensive TV & radio coverage. That’s a massive bonus for those of us not attending.
I think you can watch pretty much every act on the main stages all weekend via iPlayer, which is always a plus.
very true. I love the Glastonbury coverage. I always take the Friday off work and make the most of it. the BBC do an excellent job with it.
Download this weekend....watch the Churnups do another secret set 😀
"I hope that they don't play because I won't physically be there and if I can't enjoy something, nobody should be able to. The 100,000 people who are there can get fucked"
Josh posted on Instagram from Disneyland (in Anaheim) earlier today..
by my calculations that means they’re not performing at download then
After meticulous consideration I have reached a similar conclusion
And after careful examination I have found that today is indeed saturday instead of friday
Most importantly, contrary to what I believed, it’s still a few weeks until Glastonbury
If not I’ve missed it and wasted £400 😂
"1997 (Cassette Demo)"
Shazaming it only shows that it was released in 2023, on a label called Cherub Records - a tiny label in VA founded by PJ Sykes.
A list of all releases on this label
I cannot think of any connection between PJ Sykes and Dave.
Of course, it's entirely possible that this is yet another hoax capitalising on the mystery.
Do we know of any other likely acts that were founded in/around 1997? Presuming this is the case
Getting the same vibes as when all that "Vultures' stuff was being leaked. It's people capitalising on the hype to either draw revenue through Google AdSense or promote their own music
The song has been removed from all streaming services - another hoax
To add fuel to the fire...

Second one saying this:
Foo Fightersin kiertue jatkuu läpi kesän, mutta Suomeen asti ei yhtye tällä kertaa saavu. Eurooppaan on buukattu oikeastaan vain pari festarikeikkaa Saksaan ja Britanniaan. Ehkä tuonnempana sitten! Yhtyeen uusi albumi But Here We Are julkaistaan 2. kesäkuuta.
Which translates roughly as
The Foo Fighters tour will continue throughout the summer, but the band will not arrive in Finland this time. Only a couple of festival gigs in Germany and Britain have been booked in Europe. Maybe further down the line! The band's new album But Here We Are will be released on June 2.
Danke @wol and Mattia for the finds
I looked that the Cannes thing, will not be buying a ticket 😂 €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€
Guess with them being in France, Glasto is looking more likely.
Ole hyvä 👋
