(it also has a lot of spoilers, fyi, and asks a question i have been dying for someone to ask, which is what the rest of the band thought of the plot of the movie)
T-Shirt for it is out as part of 666, saying - "Inspired by Studio 666, made of 100% combed ringspun cotton."
Inspired by... whatever the fuck that means - part of the movie?
No way in hell is this old (Probot etc - on that kinda stuff we'd have long known) - it is VERY new.
Oddly there are great clear images on the store of front and back for all the new 666 shirts on offer - but just one crappy one for Widow containing both sides.
There is a piece of masking tape (printed obv) on the back of the shirt - that has handwritten "Dream Widow" - then a line underneath I simply cant make out.
If it says more they aren't keen on anyone reading it...
Directed by Hatchett III director BJ McDonnell with a screenplay by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary) and Rebecca Hughes (Cracking Up), it stars the band, consisting of Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, as well as Whitney Cummings as sound-bath-taking groupie neighbor Samantha; Leslie Grossman as chirpy real estate agent Barb Weems; Will Forte as the unfortunate, Coldplay-loving delivery man; Dream Widow member and original victim Jenna Ortega; and Jeff Garlin as label boss Jeremy Shill. Slayer guitarist Kerry King also plays a drum tech.
I've avoided the merch store for so long but have succumbed. I hear terrible things all the time, and I haven't received an order confirmation but have been charged. Is this standard from Live Nation or should I be concerned?
I ordered yesterday and again today (they sold out on the shirt size I wanted and its back in stock today - prob printing more) - I too have had no order confirmations from the actual store.
But the orders are correctly sitting in my account as unfulfilled - look exactly as they should. So I'm not overly worried about the conf emails.
I always make sure I am logged in when I order so they are visible - and always grab a screenshot of the final order conf page with the order number.
I saw a snippet this morning that said Dave just has piles of riffs lying around that he's created, some of them metal and he strung them together to make this!
Re the store: hopefully things have improved, I had to get a replacement item a few months back and they answered really quickly and dispatched it promptly.
Did the album drop and I just missed it? I'm sure Dave was saying in interviews he'd get it out for the film release. Does anyone know anything? Got a long drive today so was hoping this could be the perfect travel companion!
The trademark licensing deal for Dream Widow includes the categories that cover pre-recorded music, merchandise AND live performances.
That doesn't necessarily mean any live performances are planned, it's probably just best to cover all bases as that category is required if you were going to put out a performance video of any kind.
Comments
I totally was not expecting a full on hardcore/mental track from the guys. This is awesome!
Dave played all the instruments on this
Which Dave? Normal, or POSSESSED?
a possessed Dave Grohl π
possessed and did them all at the same time
I'd take those odds to be a producer of his music! Even if that means I'd die at the end of the sessions lol
Is that a fact or speculation?
This deadline article seems to confirm that Dave played all the instruments https://deadline.com/2022/02/dave-grohl-studio-666-foo-fighters-interview-1234930172/

This video came online at the same time today as the Foo Fighters YouTube channel. See video description.
It's a Probot leftover π²
Sounds too polished to be from that era, but it could be something as a new side project from Dave aka Probot 2.0?

BUSTED - (I think...)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenna_Ortega
Jenna Marie Ortega is a 19 year old actress - so if she is a member of Dream Widow - then it must be a band WITHIN the movie.
The song might not be - but if not, then it's a direct add-on (as wonderfully Bee Gees opposite as it is).
Was mainly joking just because it's heavy. I'd be very happy if another Probot record or similar was in the works though
I'm hoping it gets a recordstore day release. Either as a single or an EP if there's more of these songs kicking around π€
Surprised there’s not a soundtrack album available on pre-order. The song would be on that for sure.

Quite disappointed this wasn't released as a RSD release :(

Ok, I can at least see it in my account - cheers for the reassurance.
Order confirmation from PayPal but not the official store - they might be manually processing those invoices, or the whole thing is still FUBAR.

Looks like we will be getting a Dream Widow full length album

Welcome to the Church of Foo... where we all congregate and pray together π€£
And yes as per other comments - did get PP confs.
EDIT:
Ive sent an email to the new address and said numerous people report no confirmation emails.
It occurred to me if the don't know they won't fix it - and then we likely wouldn't get any shipping emails either.

Not out yet

Still, the option is there.
Sad no album! ... could be one of those things that lost its steam and now will never happen!
The movie is available for streaming from Friday March 18th. For maximum exposure you’d coincide the Dream Widow release with that.
