Yay! Will see some of you in Milwaukee, hopefully!

  • These smaller legs are great energy/ setlist wise, but going to have to skip for now. Still got my ticket for Napa though. Hoping a 25... err 26th Anniversary Jam pops up. Or just something closer in the South East.

It does say some more dates will be announced, so there's definitely hope for some shows closer to wherever everyone's at.

  • JaeydeeJaeydee 2,334 posts

Had the tickets in my cart ready to purchase but just couldn't justify the price atm. 😫 Hopefully they release more dates when I haven't just paid so much money to my vet, car registration, and eye doctor!!!

I think I might pass on the entire tour this time. Out of curiosity, how much were tickets?

  • JaeydeeJaeydee 2,334 posts

The front section was $110 each. Not really THAT expensive, compared to other shows I've been to. But still too much for my current budget.

  • When are we supposed to receive the code for presale?

    #CROWDBLOTTER21

Sorry but this is just WAY too soon.

There is EVERY chance someone at a concert in July 2021 in the US will get Covid and go home and either die or kill someone else.

I'm dying to see the band again too... just not literally.

The US infection rate IS going down for sure. IF it keeps going down then OK it may be not so bad by late July.

That's obv what everyone in management is banking on.

But rates have gone down and then waaay up before - and the new Indian strain still has an unknown response re vaccines and a definite known R rate that shits on everything before and is killing ALL ages equally in India.

So I'm rather disappointed in this apparent gamble... 23183 people were infected in the US TODAY.

Even IF (and I haven't even bothered to look I admit) they were to seek vaccinated ONLY entry - there is a total of ZERO proof vaccination totally stops getting the virus - let alone sharing the virus to any degree. So go home and be lethal - no worries... probably maybe - YOU'LL live.

The band don't need the money. If their feet are itchy get the fuck in 606 and livestream for a week non stop with a live fan wall like F1 and MotoGP are doing worldwide. Six months from now the whole thing will hopefully be totally different - but this is six months too soon.

How much money did we make?... $X per the bank statements.

How many of our fans did we kill?... Nobody knows nor probably ever will. Certainly can't EVER blame us for any death.

    So, well... that's alright then.

    Fuck NO it's NOT.

What's the value of a FF fan Dave?

    25000? 159000? 2.5 million?

Why don't we do a documentary where we get a bunch of top artists together with, and asking that of, their mothers. It will be so cool...

That's a point @FooZealand does anyone know if being vaccinated was a requirement of purchasing a ticket? I haven't looked as locked up in Australia, it was my goal to see them in a smaller venue in the US but guess that will have to wait. There is that risk if vaccination wasn't a requirement, we're currently in lockdown in Victoria due to one case escaping quarantine in another state! They are worried about the Indian strain which is why we are being locked down for longer. I'd assume the venue would do rapid testing but we know that's not super reliable.

Reports so far look good for vaccinations, you're very unlikely to end up in hospital and transmission if any is low, however, I think winter in the northern hems will be the test!

Also from what I've seen experiments for gigs have been favourable for transmission if vaccinated or tested before but they were made to wear masks.

  • lharris92lharris92 1,729 posts

Here in the UK they've been doing test events to see how it's viable to open things up properly - and with that it was with no social distancing, no masks etc. but having a proper PCR test before and 5 days after (possibly with a lateral flow as well to allow entry).

Obviously they were relying on people to actually do the tests (seems like < 50% did the one afterwards) but from the data they did have a week ago (the events were at the start of May) there were something like 15 total confirmed positive cases that were linked to the rave/gigs - and whether they caught it there or elsewhere is a different matter.

Stuff like this will probably provide the framework going forward for the next few months

Yes, that was very positive and the trial they did in Germany. I wonder if there was any follow up to the gig Foos played the other week? I know a couple of people who went but by the sounds of it there were no plans to see if there had been any spread.

I asked my friends who bought tickets for the new shows, nothing about vaccine proof etc. It just sounds like the US has said, get vaccinated and you can have your life back, don't get vaccinated and you run the risk of Covid! They are working on the premise that so far vaccines are showing mild symptoms if you do get it and lower transmission rates. Guess we will find out come the end of the US and UK winters. I pray it will be positive news and then maybe, if Aussies get vaccinated we can open up the country and we can leave to go to gigs or it will be easier for international bands to visit us as they may not have to quarantine, that's the big $$ cost for them coming over now! Guns and Kiss are due at the end of the year but we'll see if they actually make it over!

Alanis was just rescheduled from November this year to November next year, so probably not...

Yeah there definitely seems to be a different perspective to it all this end of the world.

I guess when you've lived with people dying in their thousands every day for 15 months and survived just fine, it escapes some people that every time you pull the trigger playing Russian Roulette you have the same chance.

Many more empty chambers in this version sure, and a vaccine shot that gives you some kind of of bullet proof vest; only this version is worse as the guns are silent and the bullets can still ricochet off and kill 30 other people that you may never even know (just infecting one person at a gig could start a spread over the next weeks in some place they live that is less vaccinated).

It's the last part that makes me super angry - fans will go, and say in a 30k crowd, someone will definitely die as a an end result - maybe not a fan but someone in an infection chain they start afterwards.

Divulging the band of that responsibility just because they are only hiring the firing range is impossible, when they are then also asking people (the guns) to come along, knowing full well they will ALL start firing, with no way to know how many guns are loaded or how good a shot any of them are. And that some fans may be effectively loading other fans empty guns... with, worst of all, everyone still pulling their triggers non stop even after leaving the firing range.

And it's an oddly and utterly sadly apt analogy too... as if it DID involve real guns it wouldn't be considered for a second in a million years. Yet same end result - setting up events to let your own fans kill each other, just no front page new stories and no outcry... just silent, unknown killings and everyone trucking on - sleeping soundly in their beds.

    Well almost everyone.

Not on board, and I fully know the opinions I have will/do piss some people off, so I won't mention it here again. I just hope even those that disagree are all lucky enough to still be around to think I'm a still a dick in a years time.

    EDIT :

This is why it's way too early - news like this is breaking every day.

UK has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

Before May, well things got pretty shit - then lockdown etc.

    Here's how it's doing since 1st May.

Remember more and more people are being vaccinated every day during this time, so that should be squashing the numbers a bit every day.

First number is infections, second deaths. Big news on the zero deaths on 1st June... which was all nonsense as 31st May was a bank holiday and they always under report after a weekend.

    Look from 26th May.

    Look at 2nd June.

    Look at today 3rd June.

More and more people vaccinated, but various stages of reopening have been allowed. Plus new variant = virus definitely still winning.

Yeah I saw that..... at least we haven't got any dates to get cancelled to get upset about. It was bad enough with a local gig I was supposed to go to last week, at least they can easily reschedule once we're over this blip in about 4 months time...

  • Queens of the Stone Age opening night 1 and Mick Jagger night 2. Just insane!

can't get an image put here as don't have it on this device but billboards around NY have it up, seen a photo of it
