no more than they were 15 years ago and ever since. i think there's been plenty of lyrics /songs/themes that were political....i don't think having the word "war" in a title or lyric is necessarily any more political than say........the overwhelming majority of the last record was.
Last year, a fan discovered a one-minute clip on the Roswell Vimeo profile showing the band recording 'Waiting on a War' and laughing about Dave's voice. It was taken down quick-smart once word got out to fans and it's never been made clear what the purpose of the video was, but I assume it was part of the original planned rollout, before it became obvious they'd have to delay. It looked to be on a professional cam so it's got some wondering if there's a making-of doc coming.
Was I the first to discover it or did somebody else find it first? I assume it came from a documentary as it had professional quality sound and video and I remember the vocals being pretty rough on the track, unlike the clip we have now.
The last minute saves it. I kinda like it, but doubt I'll still be listening to this in a few months time. With the three songs we've heard it's easily been the quickest I've ever 'got over' any Foo Fighters songs. Shame provided the biggest earworm for me.

Midnight
Love the sound of this
Are they a political band now with the explanation about this song? Thanks to that leaked documentary clip, I've been most excited to hear this track.
No not really.
No.
No.
What was the leaked documentary clip?

it was the Vimeo clip a few months ago of them listening to 'Waiting On A War' in the studio.

I really like that.
Makes me really happy it's less than a month til the album.
But Honestly?
Yeah, I felt that from it in parts.
gotta listen to NSOM first.... then this
Yes you should!
Best one so far IMO.
Got a "Resolve"-ish feel from the leaked studio doc snippet when it was available.
Still get the same feel, with a twist of But, Honestly.
I like the New Way Home speed up trick up at the end.
Another track that really showcases the fact there are three guitar players in the band ๐
I was getting concerned that it was building to "nothing".....almost thought this would be "WHEELS" (a good time to grab a beer during the gig)
But thankfully it does pay off by the end. I think it's my favourite of the new 3.
Holy shit yes
this song is fucking great
This completely. By far my favorite so far. Much better without the scratch vocals too haha.

It's just ok ๐
Excited for the album now!
